Convert#
Sometimes you do not need to add new money or move anything out. You just need to shift capital that is already inside Hightop, rebalancing between cash, supported assets, and yield positions from the same account your agents already use. Convert is the workflow for that.
This page covers the in-app conversion workflow. For the deeper asset, venue, and rule model behind what routes are possible, see Supported Assets and Venues and Agent Permissions and Limits.
Convert is available from the main home action row alongside the other money actions.
The Mental Model#
Convertmoves existing funds inside your Hightop account. It is not an inbound funding rail or an outbound withdrawal rail.- Sources can be wallet balances and eligible positions with available funds.
- Destinations can be wallet balances and eligible yield positions.
- The selectors are curated. You choose from assets and positions the app can actually route.
- Other product surfaces deep-link into
Convertwith part of the flow already filled in.Start Earningpreselects a vault destination.Get {Asset}preselects an asset destination. Convertalso respects account constraints. The app can stop you because of destination capacity, a temporarily unavailable route, or the maximum number of conversions allowed in the current period.- Same-asset moves, like wallet
USDCintoCore EarnUSDC, use this flow too and are not blocked by the normal period-based conversion limit.
Open Convert#
The direct path starts from the Convert button on the home screen. That opens Select Source.
Convert also appears indirectly across the app:
- from an asset detail page through
Get {Asset} - from a vault detail page through
Start EarningorAdd More
Those entry points matter because they often preselect the destination before you even reach the first selector.
Asset detail and vault detail screens can open Convert with part of the route already selected.
Choose a Source#
The first live screen is Select Source.
This list is practical rather than theoretical. It only shows assets and positions with available balance, and it focuses on what you can actually move right now. Shared labels make the source explicit:
In WalletCore EarnAmplified EarnEarnfor GREEN's earning position
When you tap a source, the flow carries its full available amount forward by default. You can reduce it on the next screen, but the app starts from the maximum usable balance.
If your destination was already preselected from another part of the app, choosing the source sends you straight to the amount screen. Otherwise, the next step is Select Destination.
Select Source shows available wallet balances and yield positions with their account context.
Choose a Destination#
If the destination was not already chosen, the next screen is Select Destination.
This list is more opportunity-oriented than the source list. It is organized around supported destinations and yield context, not just around what you already hold. Rows can lead to:
- a wallet balance for a supported asset
- a
Core Earnposition - an
Amplified Earnposition - an
Earndestination for GREEN
The destination list excludes your selected source position and the RIPE earning position.
If an asset has multiple destination contexts, the screen asks you to choose the specific one.
Select Destination separates wallet balances, Core Earn, Amplified Earn, and other eligible destinations.
Set the Amount and Submit#
The final screen is Convert.
This is where the whole rebalance becomes concrete. The top half of the screen shows two selectors:
FromTo
You can reopen either one from here without backing all the way out of the flow. On the source side, you enter the amount. The screen supports both USD and token-denominated entry, and the amount toggle updates both sides together.
The destination side updates in real time to show the estimated output.
When the keyboard is open, the app also gives you quick percentage buttons for 25%, 50%, 75%, and Max.
The amount screen is also where Hightop tells you whether the route is actually available.
The Advanced sheet is available from this screen too. It shows:
- the conversion path through supported venues
- the swap fee
- your max slippage setting
Slippage defaults to 1% and can be changed to 0.25%, 2.5%, or 5%.
The warning states are specific:
- If you have reached the maximum number of conversions for the current period, the screen tells you when the limit resets.
- If the destination is temporarily unavailable, the screen says so directly.
- If a vault or destination can only accept part of what you entered, the screen shows the maximum amount it can take and can offer
Convert Max.
If your typed amount would leave behind less than one cent of the source balance, the app rounds up and converts the full remaining amount instead.
Once the route is valid, the final control is Swipe to Convert.
The Convert screen shows the route, live estimate, advanced settings, and route-specific warning states.
What to Expect After You Submit#
Convert is a protected action like the other money-moving flows. If biometrics are enabled, the app authenticates you before it signs and submits the conversion.
After submission, the app returns to the main app surface and shows a live transaction banner while the action executes. The activity feed records the result as a Conversion.
Once it settles, the source balance drops and the destination balance or position updates in the same account. There is no separate settlement queue, claim step, or transfer out to another product before the result becomes usable.
Completed conversions show the source, destination, amount, related activity, and follow-up actions.
